High Voltage Music is a leading after-school on-campus music program for teens in grades 7-12 in San Antonio, Texas. The program focuses on schools with little funding for arts and humanities programs. Since its inception in 2016, High Voltage has taught free music lessons in guitar, bass, drums, and keyboard to high school students in underserved San Antonio communities.
High Voltage understands that a music program can financially burden families. That’s why the program is entirely free, including the classes and the use of the instruments. Students start by learning the fundamentals of their chosen instrument twice a week during an on-campus 2-hour after-school class.
La Semana Alegre, a beloved music festival, is making a comeback after 28 years, and it's more family-friendly than ever!
The students of High Voltage Music Inc. will be performing on Friday, April 26 at 4pm at the YANAGUANA GARDEN stage in the newly renovated children's area at Hemisphere Park.
This area of La Semana Alegre is free and open to the public, families with children can enjoy the music and the festival atmosphere!
